Dog friendly holidays in the Quantock Hills

Our gorgeous cottage in the heart of the Quantock Hills warmly welcomes your canine companions. Our open plan living area has plenty of room for your furry friends to wander and rest comfortably with you. If that hasn’t sold you already, Bluebell Cottage also has its own securely enclosed garden for your four-legged family members to get some fresh air, even if all you want to do is sit back and relax after a long day exploring the beautiful scenery the Quantocks has to offer.

We’re right in the heart of the Quantock Hills meaning that there are ample walks direct from the door – short morning leg stretches around the block, taking in woodlands, open fields and streams, or longer days out on the open moorland of the Quantock Hills. The rugged coast is only a short drive or the sandy beaches of Brean and Minehead are a 30 minute drive away. There’s never a dull moment for you and your dogs as there are always plenty of dog-friendly days out and places to eat dotted around the area that will greet you with open arms. The Quantock Hills is the place to explore with your furry friends.

Dog friendly days out

Fyne Court, Broomfield

Fyne Court is rated two pawprints by the National Trust – dogs are welcome to explore the woodlands and meadows of the estate, or head up onto the Quantock Hills for miles of dog-friendly routes directly from here. One of the best NT properties in the region for dogs specifically

Kilve Beach

Kilve Beach is in the heart of the Quantocks and is an area of Special Scientific Interest – go fossil hunting along the shoreline and explore the rock pools at low tide. Dogs love the wide open beach and the pools, and it’s completely free.

The Hood Arms, Kilve

One of our favourites, The Hood Arms is a historic 17th-century coaching inn located in the village of Kilve, Somerset, at the foot of the Quantock Hills. Famous for its hearty, locally sourced food, real ales, and roaring fires, it is a highly popular stop for walkers, beachgoers, and locals. Dogs are welcome in the bar.
